Piano

Educator

“I feel incredibly fortunate to have had amazing teachers since I began my piano studies at the age of 5.  Kathleen Vincent, Stewart Gordon, Thomas Schumacher, Rudolf Firkusny and Julian Martin each instilled in me a great love and understanding of music.  Through their own shining examples, I learned to be disciplined in my practice, and ever-fascinated by the learning process.  I am honored to be a part of this lineage of great musical giants, and am committed to carrying on this treasured tradition with each student I encounter.”

A dedicated and passionate pedagogue, Donna Lee is frequently invited to give masterclasses and seminars,  including past residencies in Beijing, China and Istanbul, Turkey.  She is on the faculty of Kent State University in Kent, OH (link), where, during the summers, she co-directs the Piano Institute at Kent State (link), an 11-day intensive festival for talented young pianists between the ages of 11-17.  She also serves on the faculty of Kent Blossom Music, a chamber music festival for advance level students.  In addition, she is artist-faculty at the prestigious Brevard Music Center in Brevard, North Carolina.
